The Common Room can accommodate up to 96 guests cabaret style with catering served in the room, up to 144 guests with catering served in a different room, up to 150 theatre style with catering in the room, or up to 244 theatre style with catering in an adjacent space. For weddings specifically, it seats up to 180 guests on round tables or 160 for dinner and dance.

What time slots are available for wedding hire and what are the different pricing options?

Three time slot options are available: 9:00 AM - 5:00 PM (£3,600 + VAT, £3,000 minimum spend), 1:00 PM - 5:00 PM (£2,300 + VAT, £1,500 minimum spend), and 6:00 PM - 11:00 PM (£2,750 + VAT, £5,000 minimum spend). Weekend events have different minimum spend requirements starting from £10,000 + VAT.

What wedding ceremony packages are available and what do they include?

A ceremony package is available for minimum 300 guests at £52.50 + VAT per person, including exclusive hire of Common & Reading Room 12:00-17:00, theatre style setup, prosecco on arrival, 4 bowl food options per person, AV and staging, complimentary wifi, pay bar, dedicated team, and digital signage. An alternative finger food buffet option is £47.50 + VAT per person.

What AV equipment and staging is included for wedding events?

Standard AV package includes stage, screen/projector, two repeater screens, lectern and lectern mic, handheld mic, and PA system for £400 + VAT. The room features a movable stage, built-in sound system, and fixed speakers as part of its permanent setup.

What catering options and pricing are available through the in-house caterer Graysons?

Graysons provides in-house catering with options including two-course dinner at £57 + VAT per person, three-course formal dining menus, and various reception packages. Wedding dinner packages start from £140.50 + VAT per person including 3-course meal, wine, sparkling reception, DJ, dance floor, and dedicated team.

What additional services and decorative features are included for wedding celebrations?

Wedding packages can include DJ and dance floor, uplighters for ambience, table centres and crackers for Christmas events, cloakroom facilities, security, digital signage, personalised welcome signs, and dedicated event team. The room features beautiful alcoves perfect for photographers, cocktail bars, entertainment, or photo booths.

Are there restrictions on dates or special considerations for weekend wedding bookings?

Weekend bookings have higher minimum spend requirements starting from £10,000 + VAT as the building is usually closed. Some dates may not be available due to existing bookings, and flexibility with dates may be required. The venue can accommodate both traditional and contemporary wedding styles in their Grade II* listed Georgian building.
