What are the exact hire costs for the different screening rooms at Curzon Bloomsbury?

Screen 5 (Renoir) with 150 seats costs £2,313 + VAT per slot Monday-Sunday. Screen 3 (Phoenix) with 28 seats costs £682 + VAT per slot. Evening slots are either 5:30pm-8:30pm (early) or 8:30pm-11:30pm (late), with doubled pricing if you need both slots.

What technical equipment and support is included in the hire cost?

The hire includes use of the screen and projector, up to 3 handheld microphones, technical support, and a 30-minute technical rehearsal prior to the event day at 10:30am. Sony 4K projection is standard throughout, with the main screen featuring Dolby Atmos sound system.

What are the requirements and costs for screening your own content?

Content must be delivered in DCP format 72 hours prior to the technical rehearsal. If you have content in another format, conversion costs £500 + VAT (for content exceeding 20 minutes). Content must be provided in ProRes or MP4 format for conversion, and there are additional fees for late delivery or missed technical rehearsals.

Can Curzon source films for private screenings and what does this cost?

Yes, Curzon can source most films including new releases and classic titles, with the cost included in the standard hire price. However, some films may be unavailable for private screening or come at higher cost, which needs to be checked with distributors once a venue and date are confirmed.

What are the bar hire costs and arrangements for networking events?

The bar costs £300 + VAT per hour for exclusive use for up to 150 people standing. If the bar is not hired privately, it remains open to the public. The cost covers exclusive access only - all drinks are charged separately with no service charge on food and drinks, and there is no minimum spend requirement.

What food and drink options are available and how far in advance must orders be placed?

In-house options include tea/coffee receptions, breakfast items, pizzas and light bites. For drinks, they recommend budgeting £6 per person per drink for house wine, prosecco, beers and soft drinks on a tab system. All food and drink orders must be placed 2 weeks ahead of your event to ensure staffing and stock, with no guarantee for orders placed after this deadline.

What is the booking process and payment timeline?

After providing contract details, Curzon sends the contract via DocuSign. Once countersigned, full payment is invoiced ahead of the event. Coordination questions must be returned by a specified date (typically 2-3 weeks before) to arrange staffing and orders, with final numbers required 13 days prior to the event.

What are the current booking availability restrictions?

Curzon Bloomsbury is currently taking bookings from 1st August onwards across all sites. The smaller 28-30 seater screens at Bloomsbury are not currently set up for private hires, so only the larger screens are available for booking.

What are the capacity limits for different screens and event types?

Screen 5 (Renoir) seats up to 150 people and is suitable for larger presentations and screenings. Screen 3 (Phoenix) seats 28 people for more intimate screenings. The ground floor bar can accommodate up to 150 people standing for networking and drinks receptions.

Are there additional costs for snacks and refreshments during screenings?

Yes, cinema snacks are available as add-ons. Large popcorn boxes cost £5 each and still water bottles cost £2.20 each. These must be pre-ordered and are charged separately from the room hire cost.
