What is the minimum spend requirement for private events at COMO The Halkin?

The minimum spend varies by event size and type. For smaller groups (10-15 people), the minimum is £2,000 including VAT on food and beverages, excluding the 12.5% service charge. For larger events (25+ people), the minimum spend is £4,500-£6,000 on food and beverage excluding service charge, with complimentary room hire included when this minimum is met.

What are the capacity limits for the Events space?

The Events space accommodates up to 24 guests seated or 40 standing. The venue can arrange theatre-style seating for up to 50 guests using both the Private Dining Area and adjacent Private Dining Room together.

What catering options and pricing are available?

Canapé options include 5 canapés at £35 per person or 10 canapés at £55 per person. Bowl food starts from £40 per person, sharing boards are £36 per person, and 3-course dinner menus start from £80 per person. House wine starts from £40 per bottle, house champagne from £99 per bottle, bottled beer £8, soft drinks £6 per serving, and water £7-£8 per bottle.

What additional charges apply beyond the minimum spend?

A discretionary 12.5% service charge is added to all food and beverage bills. External equipment like microphones and chairs must be outsourced through suppliers, with costs quoted separately. All prices shown exclude VAT unless specifically stated as including VAT.

What AV equipment and setup options are available?

The room features an in-built plasma screen with natural daylight from large windows overlooking the hotel's garden. External AV requirements like microphones, lecterns, and additional chairs must be arranged through outside suppliers at additional cost, with quotes provided upon request.

How long are event spaces held without confirmation?

Event spaces are held temporarily pending confirmation, but will be released if no feedback is received by specified deadlines. The venue follows up on enquiries and provides clear release dates for held spaces to ensure availability for other clients.

What room configurations and layouts can be accommodated?

The space can be configured for various layouts including theatre-style seating, boardroom setup, cabaret style with round tables, and standing reception format. For larger events requiring 50+ guests, both the Private Dining Area and adjacent Private Dining Room can be used together.

What is included with private dining bookings?

Private dining bookings include full dinner setup, complimentary bread basket, tea and coffee service, petit fours, menu cards, and place cards. The venue can create bespoke menus on request and provides a discreet, elegant environment suitable for business or personal celebrations.

What are the operating hours and timing restrictions?

Events can run until venue close, with specific timing arrangements made based on the event type. The venue accommodates various schedules from breakfast meetings starting at 8:30am through to evening events extending to 23:00, with setup time included in arrangements.
