Frequently Asked Questions
What are the venue hire rates for weddings and how do weekday vs weekend prices differ?
Wedding venue hire from 2pm until midnight starts from £4,825 VAT exempt for weekday hire or £7,175 VAT exempt for weekend hire, with supplier access from 12pm. There's currently a winter offer of £1,000 discount on venue hire for weddings taking place in October or November 2025.
What spaces are included when hiring for weddings and what are the capacity limits?
For smaller weddings, 10 Carlton House Terrace includes private lobby, Council Room, Barnard Room and Radhakrishnan Room. For larger weddings up to 100 guests, 11 Carlton House Terrace includes private lobby, Gallery, Music Room and Beatrice Webb Room. The maximum seated capacity for ceremony and dinner is 100 guests in the Beatrice Webb Room.
Can I use external suppliers or am I restricted to approved vendors?
The venue has a detailed list of Approved Suppliers for Audio Visual, Production and Floristry, plus Recommended suppliers. Use of third-party suppliers outside of this approved list must be agreed in writing by the venue before booking.
What catering options are available and who provides the food?
All catering is provided exclusively by Searcys, the venue's in-house catering partner. They can design bespoke menus and offer halal or South Asian inspired catering options, though they note they are not specialised in South Asian catering specifically.
Which rooms can accommodate wedding ceremonies and what are the capacity limits?
The Beatrice Webb Room is licensed for wedding ceremonies and can hold a maximum of 80 guests seated. The Music Room alone is not suitable for both ceremony and reception as it's too small for dinner service, requiring additional room bookings.
What is the booking process and what information do I need to provide?
To process enquiries, the venue retains contact details and may request additional information for effective booking. For contracts, they require full signatory details, organisation information, contact details, addresses, and finance contact information if different from the signatory.
What are the payment terms and deposit requirements?
Upon receipt of the signed hire agreement, the venue sends a 50% deposit invoice. You must wait to receive this invoice before making payment as you'll need to quote the invoice number. PO numbers must be provided before the deposit invoice is generated to avoid booking confirmation delays.
Are there any restrictions on room combinations or specific requirements for different event elements?
The Music Room cannot accommodate both dinner and drinks for 50+ guests, requiring additional room bookings. Some rooms may require dancefloor hire for carpeted areas (£795 + VAT). The venue comprises two former private houses, so room recommendations depend on guest numbers.
