What is the minimum spend requirement for weekend dining events?

Weekend events require a minimum spend of £4,000 per day. This applies to all Saturday and Sunday bookings regardless of guest numbers or event type.

How many guests can the dining space accommodate for seated meals?

The dining space can accommodate up to 60 guests for seated meals. This capacity limit applies to all dining events including Christmas lunches, dinner parties, and supper clubs.

What are the Day Delegate Package rates and what do they include?

The Classic Full Day Delegate Package costs £80 plus VAT per person (£65 plus VAT on Mondays and Fridays) with a minimum of 30 guests. It includes room hire 8am-5pm, arrival tea/coffee with pastries, mid-morning refreshments, deli sandwich lunch, afternoon tea with fruit skewers, screen and projector, Wi-Fi, flipchart, and cloakroom.

Are there additional costs for Christmas events and what extras are available?

Christmas events can include additional services such as a dancefloor in the Reception Room with background music or silent disco. For full DJ services with dancing, you can hire the Wolfson Room and Exhibition Area for an extra £700 plus VAT, with DJ services starting from £850 plus VAT.

What catering upgrade options are available and at what cost?

Several catering upgrades are available: healthy working lunch upgrade for £5.50 plus VAT per person, bowl food (5 bowls per person) for £11.50 plus VAT per person, and fork buffet lunch for £15.00 plus VAT per person. All upgrades have minimum number requirements.

What is included in the Reception Only Wedding Package?

The Reception Only Wedding Package costs £171 including VAT per person based on 30 guests. It includes first floor venue hire (5pm-11pm), arrival nibbles, glass of Prosecco, 5 canapés, 3 bowl foods, two-hour unlimited house wine/beer/soft drinks, bar setup, uplighters, PA system, microphones, iPad with Spotify, reception team, security, and unmanned cloakroom.

How does the booking process work and what documents are provided?

After initial enquiry, the venue provides a venue brochure, sample event menu, and bespoke proposal. Clients can request a provision hold on their preferred date and book site visits to view the space and discuss event details.

What are the standard access times and can they be extended?

Standard access times are typically 8am-5pm for day events. Evening events like receptions run 5pm-11pm, with late license available until midnight for an additional £500 plus VAT.

What AV equipment and facilities are included in the venue hire?

Standard AV equipment includes screen and projector, Wi-Fi, flipchart, PA system, handheld microphones, and iPad with Spotify. The venue also provides uplighters and directional signage as part of the package.

Are there any restrictions on external suppliers or special requirements?

The venue works with Searcys for catering and can accommodate bespoke proposals. December dates are available on a first-come, first-served basis due to high demand, and all profits from venue hire support the Academy of Medical Sciences' research activities.
