What are the different dining spaces available and their capacity limits?

Chotto Matte offers three main dining spaces: Claude's (private) seats up to 20 or accommodates 50 standing, Itamae (semi-private) seats up to 40 with an open sushi counter, and the Lava Lounge (semi-private) seats up to 60 or accommodates 80 standing. The Lava Lounge is located on the ground floor with the bar and lounge area.

What are the minimum spend requirements for each dining space?

Claude's requires a £5,000 minimum food and beverage spend, Itamae requires £8,000, and the Lava Lounge requires £10,000. All minimum spends are subject to an additional 15% service charge on top of the stated amounts.

What are the standard operating hours for dining events?

The Lava Lounge is available from 18:00 until 00:00 (6pm to midnight). Other spaces may have different availability, and some events have been quoted for daytime slots from 12:00-16:00 for lunch events.

How does the booking and payment process work?

To secure a booking, you need a signed copy of their standard contract and the agreed minimum spend must be prepaid as a deposit. This deposit is then redeemed against the final bill on the day of your event.

What are the menu requirements for group dining?

All guests are required to dine from the same set menu for groups of nine and over. Menus are served sharing style at the table and feature dishes from their four distinct kitchens, curated by Executive Chef Jordan Sclare. They can accommodate specific dietary requirements including vegan and vegetarian alternatives.

What entertainment and technical facilities are available?

The Lava Lounge features live DJs and is located on the ground floor which is home to the DJ booth. Claude's also has a DJ booth available for standing events. The venue can accommodate bands, microphones, and has floor-to-ceiling bi-foldable windows in the Bar & Lounge area.

Can I book different event formats in the same space?

Yes, spaces offer flexibility between seated dining and standing reception formats. For example, Claude's can accommodate either 20 seated or 50 standing guests, while the Lava Lounge can host either 60 seated or 80 standing guests, depending on your event requirements.

What is included in the pricing structure beyond the minimum spend?

The minimum food and beverage spend covers venue hire, food, and drinks. A mandatory 15% service charge is added on top of the minimum spend. Sample group dining menus start from £95 per person, with cocktails from £10 and wine/beer from £6.50.

Are there any restrictions on menu flexibility for large groups?
