Frequently asked questions

The venue is completely unavailable from late June through July, August, and September due to large rehearsals that occupy the entire venue. Additionally, from 24th November to 17th December, the venue hosts KIN London's Christmas Social and is not available for other bookings outside of that partnership.

Due to the listed status of the building and the nature of their cultural programme, club nights are not permitted. Sporting events are also not allowed, despite the venue's historical use as a boxing venue. The venue operates a fully curated cultural programme, meaning all shows are developed in consultation with the venue.

No agreement exists until a contract and full terms & conditions are signed by both parties and all hire fees and other charges are paid in full. Any enquiry, discussion or correspondence regarding bookings should never be taken to assume confirmation. The venue reserves the right to vary or cancel hires without becoming liable for any loss or damage.

The Assembly Hall can accommodate up to 500 people in theatre style seating using Matrix seats, with an additional 250 seats available in the balcony. The venue has folding chairs and trestle tables available on site, and external furniture can be sourced if needed.

The venue operates primarily on a dry hire basis, allowing you to source external caterers of your choice. They have featured catering suppliers who have previously worked at the venue. An in-house bar service is available with a separate Bar Hire Guide. There are no permanent kitchens on site, but the Old Servery space adjoining the Assembly Hall can be used by caterers to set up equipment.

Full production services are available in-house including audio, video, and lighting equipment. For smaller spaces like the Council Chamber, they can provide speakers, projectors, and monitors. Bespoke production quotes are provided based on specific requirements, with details available in their Production Guide.

It is the hirer's responsibility to set up and clear down the space unless discussed with the venue in advance. If the venue assists with setup, this time will be factored into the hire period. The venue has folding chairs and trestle tables available on site for events.

Dates can be held as first option (provisional hold), second option (when another event already has provisional hold), or third option (when there are already two events pencilled). If a higher priority booking falls through, lower options are contacted to see if they're still interested in proceeding.
