What are the different event spaces available and their capacities?
The Railway has three private event spaces: The Lounge Bar (first floor) accommodates up to 100 guests seated or 150 standing, The Cocktail Bar (second floor) holds up to 15 seated or 40 standing, and The Snug (ground floor) fits up to 30 seated or 50 standing. All spaces include private bars and toilets on the same floor.
What are the minimum spend requirements and deposits for each space?
The Lounge Bar requires a £2,500 minimum spend plus 12.5% service charge with a £250 deposit. The Cocktail Bar has a £1,000 minimum spend plus 12.5% service charge with a £250 deposit. The Snug requires a £500 minimum spend plus 12.5% service charge with a £100 deposit.
Is there a room hire fee for private events?
No, The Railway does not charge room hire fees for any of their private spaces. All costs are covered through the minimum spend requirements on food and beverage.
What entertainment and AV facilities are included in each space?
The Lounge Bar features 4 HD TVs, DJ capability, disco ball and lights. The Cocktail Bar and The Snug each have one HD TV with Bluetooth music connection capability. All spaces allow you to play your own music.
Can I bring external catering or hire outside vendors?
No, all food and drink must be purchased at the venue and you have no access to a kitchen. External catering is not permitted for any events.
How does the booking process work and what are the payment terms?
Bookings are managed through the Designmynight platform. A deposit is required to confirm your booking (£250 for Lounge/Cocktail Bar, £100 for Snug) which is redeemed against your final bill or refunded back to your card.
Are there additional charges I should be aware of?
A 12.5% service charge applies to all food and beverage purchases. The cloakroom is available at an additional charge. All minimum spends are exclusive of the service charge.
What happens if I need to cancel my booking?
For general bar area bookings, you need to provide at least 48 hours notice to avoid a £5 per person charge. Tables are held for a maximum of 15 minutes. For private room cancellations, contact the venue directly to discuss terms.
Is the venue accessible and are there any physical limitations?
The venue does not currently have lift facilities, so access to the first and second floor private spaces requires using stairs. This may impact accessibility for guests with mobility requirements.

Private hire is available Monday through Sunday for both first floor and second floor exclusive hire. Wedding bookings are specifically mentioned as available seven days a week.
