Venue hire starts from £8,500 + VAT for exclusive use. This includes access to the 5,000 sq ft space with soaring ceilings, exposed brick archways, and natural daylight from 10-meter high skylights. The hire includes state-of-the-art PA and lighting facilities, staging, DJ equipment, and photobooth equipment.

What are the mandatory additional costs beyond venue hire?

Sound and lighting package costs £1,500 + VAT (valued at over £15,000). Event staffing, security, and tech support typically costs £4,000 + VAT. Pre and post-event cleaning is £500 + VAT. These costs vary depending on hours of hire and number of attendees.

Can the skylights be blacked out for filming and photography?

Yes, the 10-meter high skylights can achieve 100% blackout, making the space ideal for filming and photography that requires controlled lighting conditions. The venue is available for hire on 4, 12, or 24-hour periods specifically for film and photo shoots.

What is the capacity and layout flexibility of the space?

The venue has over 450 square meters of internal space and can accommodate up to 220 guests seated in presentation style in front of the stage, while leaving archway spaces free for catering and standing areas. For standing events, capacity varies but the space easily handles 150+ guests with room for dancing and entertainment.

Are there restrictions on the types of events that can be booked?

Village Underground does not book public or ticketed music events through online platforms like Hirespace - these must be arranged directly with their programming team. However, private events including weddings, corporate functions, product launches, and private parties are welcome.

What catering options and costs are available?

Bowl food packages start at £30.80 + VAT per person (minimum 200 guests) and include 5 bowls (hot and cold) plus 1 sweet bowl. Hot DDR catering is £75 + VAT per person including breakfast, snacks, lunch, drinks, and barista service. The venue works with preferred caterers including Cater London, Wolf & Lamb, Dinner Ladies, and KERB Events.

What are the drinks package options and pricing?

Unlimited drinks packages start at £10 + VAT per person per hour for house beer, wine, and soft drinks, with premium packages at £22 + VAT per person for 2 hours. If you have drinks sponsors, a corkage fee per person applies, or a 'bar buy-out' fee if supplying all drinks throughout the event.

What technical equipment is included and what additional AV costs apply?

Basic PA and lighting are included in venue hire. Large screen, projector, and video technician package costs £2,000 + VAT. The venue has full staging, state-of-the-art PA facilities, lighting systems, and DJ equipment. Chair hire and delivery for presentations costs approximately £1,000-£1,500 + VAT depending on quantity.

What are the typical event timings and access hours?

Standard exclusive hire includes up to 15 hours of access. Events typically run until midnight, though some can extend to 2:00 AM. The venue normally doesn't have Friday availability due to evening music events, but can accommodate daytime events before evening shows. Setup times can be arranged the evening before for an additional cost.

Are there any unique venue features or special requirements?

The venue features iconic trains on the roof and exposed brick archways, making it famous for brand events and celebrations. Aerial performers can be accommodated (attached to lighting truss) as this has been done for several past events. The venue has a backstage green room and photobooth facilities included in hire.
