Venue hire starts from £8,500 + VAT for exclusive access up to 15 hours. This includes use of the state-of-the-art PA and lighting facilities, staging, DJ equipment, and photobooth. The space features over 450 square metres of internal area with soaring ceilings and natural daylight from the historic Victoria Warehouse setting.

What are the mandatory additional costs beyond the base venue hire?

Event staffing and security costs £4,000 + VAT, which varies based on hours and attendee numbers. Pre and post-event cleaning is £500 + VAT. Large screen/projector with video technician costs £2,000 + VAT if required for presentations or screenings.

What is the capacity for different event layouts in the Screenings space?

The space can accommodate up to 220 guests seated in presentation style in front of the stage, while leaving archway spaces free for catering and drinks. For standing events, the venue can handle larger numbers with the full 450 square metres available for use.

Are there restrictions on the types of events that can be booked through online platforms?

Village Underground does not book any public, ticketed, or music events through online platforms like Hirespace. These must be booked directly with the venue's programming team. Private corporate events, parties, and brand activations can be booked through platforms.

What are the drink package options and pricing?

Unlimited drinks packages start from £10 + VAT per person per hour for house beer, wine, and soft drinks. Premium packages are available at £22 + VAT per person for 2 hours. If you have drinks sponsors, corkage fees apply, or a 'bar buy-out' fee is charged if sponsors supply all drinks.

What catering options are available and what do they cost?

Bowl food packages cost £30.80 + VAT per person (minimum 200 guests) and include 5 bowls (hot and cold options) plus 1 sweet bowl. Hot DDR Catering offers comprehensive packages at £75 + VAT per person including breakfast, snacks, lunch, drinks, and barista service. External caterers are welcome.

What are the availability restrictions and booking requirements?

The venue typically doesn't have Friday availability due to evening music events, but can accommodate daytime events before evening shows. Saturday availability is extremely limited. Bookings for dates within a week require immediate confirmation by the next morning to secure staff availability.

What technical capabilities does the venue offer for screenings and presentations?

The venue includes a club-based sound system with creative lighting as standard. Large screen and projector setup with video technician costs £2,000 + VAT. The space has full staging facilities, state-of-the-art PA and lighting systems, plus DJ equipment and photobooth included in the base hire.

Can aerial performers and unusual entertainment be accommodated?

Yes, aerial performers can be attached to the lighting truss, as this has been done for several events in previous years. The venue's industrial heritage and high ceilings make it suitable for creative entertainment setups and unique event concepts.

What is the wedding package pricing and what does it include?

Wedding venue hire costs £6,000 + VAT plus staffing. This includes exclusive access to the main venue, access to the iconic trains and rooftop for photography, gig-level stage with sound and lighting rig, and a dedicated event sales manager. The venue has a wedding license and works with London's leading caterers.
