What does the Day Delegate Rate include and how much does it cost?
The Day Delegate Rate ranges from £55.00 to £87.00 per person inclusive of VAT (reduced from up to £189.00). It includes room hire 09:00-17:00, air-conditioned room with daylight, superfast Wi-Fi, water, pastries & smoothies on arrival, yogurt & granola pots, energizing lunch, free-flowing tea/coffee/refreshments, flipchart, and 3000 lumen LCD projector & screen (8"x6").
What are the capacity limits for different room setups?
The Durham Suite accommodates up to 45 delegates in theatre style with natural daylight and disabled access on the 3rd floor. Other available spaces include the Dorset Suite (60 classroom style), Cambridge Suite (24 boardroom style), and larger spaces like the Cornwall Suite (200 cabaret or 250 theatre style).
Are there mandatory additional costs I need to budget for?
Security is compulsory for events based on guest numbers: 1-200 guests require 2 guards at £29.40 per hour inclusive of VAT, with a minimum 4-hour booking. Security must be paid no later than 1 month prior to the event. A discretionary 3% service charge may be added to final invoices.
What AV equipment is included and what costs extra?
Basic package includes a 3000 lumen LCD projector & screen (8"x6") and flipchart. Additional AV like bigger screens, extra projectors, or specialized equipment incurs additional charges. The venue can provide quotes from their AV supplier for specific requirements.
How long can I hold a provisional booking before confirming?
The venue offers joint 1st option holds but requires decisions within specific timeframes. For example, bookings may require confirmation by 1pm on a specified date (typically about a week before) or the space will be released to other clients.
What catering options are available for business events?
Options include unlimited tea/coffee/refreshments at £5.75-£11.50 per person inclusive of VAT, energizing lunch at £20.95 per person, sandwich lunch at £12.95 per person, bacon/egg baps at £4.95 per person, and Danish pastries at £4.00 per person. All F&B rates are inclusive of VAT.
What are the restrictions for ticketed events?
For ticketed events, all tickets must be pre-purchased and the venue does not allow tickets to be sold on the night. This policy applies to all ticketed events regardless of size or type.
Are there specific timing restrictions I should know about?
Standard room hire typically runs 09:00-17:00, with all spaces required to be vacated by 17:00 or additional de-rig charges apply. For events extending beyond standard hours, additional room hire charges will apply.
