More about Hawksmoor300 Limehouse

Hawksmoor300 is an ambitious campaign aimed at transforming St Anne’s Limehouse, a Grade 1 listed building designed by Nicholas Hawksmoor. This venue is envisioned to celebrate its 300th anniversary as a world-class architectural heritage site and a community hub integral to the regeneration of London’s East End. The church has a rich maritime history and features a 50m tower that served as a landmark for shipping on the Thames. The venue is currently on Historic England’s Heritage at Risk Register, highlighting the urgent need for restoration. The campaign aims to create flexible, low-cost spaces for community use, including a café, meeting rooms, and areas for performances and events. The Nave will accommodate larger congregations and live performances, while the Crypt will serve as a social hub. The Gallery will be transformed for exhibitions and workshops. The churchyard will be developed into community gardens, enhancing the local environment. This venue is suitable for community-led initiatives, performances, workshops, and events that foster engagement and collaboration.
