The Green House costs £1,800-£2,300 VAT exempt per day depending on the date, with additional hours at £300 VAT exempt. The Orangery & Courtyard is £3,800 VAT exempt for evening hire (6pm-midnight). The Edwards Room is £2,250 VAT exempt per day, and The Marlborough Theatre ranges from £1,700-£2,300 VAT exempt per day depending on which days of the week you book.

What are the minimum catering spends and typical costs per person?

Most spaces have a minimum catering spend of £1,500-£3,700 plus VAT depending on the room. Daytime catering packages start from £56.90-£68.28 per person plus VAT including multiple coffee breaks, lunch, and water. Evening packages with canapes and drinks range from £25-£150 per person plus VAT depending on the menu selection.

What capacity limits apply to each event space?

The Green House accommodates up to 140 standing or 60 formal dining. The Orangery & Courtyard holds up to 280 standing or 120 formal dining with minimum numbers of 80 for drinks receptions. The Marlborough Theatre seats up to 60 theatre style or 45 cabaret with a minimum of 30 people and £3,000 plus VAT minimum catering spend per day.

What AV equipment is included in the room hire?

Standard AV includes PA system with bluetooth connection, roving microphones, fixed digital branding screens, staging if required, LED multicolour lighting, and 500MB wifi. Some rooms include lecterns with computers, Microsoft Office, multiple microphones, comfort monitors, HDMI inputs, and infrared induction loops. AV technicians are available for £380-£456 plus VAT per day if needed.

What are the standard operating hours and additional hour charges?

Standard session times are typically 8am-5pm for daytime events and 6pm-midnight for evening events. Additional hours are charged at £300 VAT exempt per hour. Viewings are available Monday to Friday between 9am-4pm, with some flexibility for 9:30am-11:30am or 2pm appointments.

Are there overnight hold charges for multi-day events?

Yes, overnight holds are charged separately. The Marlborough Theatre charges £1,140-£1,550 VAT exempt per night depending on which nights you need. Multi-day events requiring setup and breakdown days will incur additional overnight hold fees beyond the daily room hire rates.

What are the ceiling height restrictions for staging and equipment?

The Green House has a ceiling height of approximately 4 metres, which means 6-metre high LED structures will not fit in the space. The venue can accommodate DJ booths, live bands on stage, and standard staging, but large-scale structures may be restricted depending on the specific room dimensions.

Can the venue accommodate exclusive hire for weddings?

Yes, wedding packages start from £8,500-£8,700 plus VAT with the venue exclusively yours for the day. Wedding viewings can be arranged with dedicated Event Managers who will be your point of contact through to the wedding day. The Orangery and Courtyard are particularly popular for summer weddings with their beautiful natural setting.

What is the booking and payment process?

Initial proposals are provided with estimated costs valid at the time of enquiry but subject to future price changes. The venue follows up within 5 working days if no response is received. Spaces can be placed on hold during the decision process, and dedicated Event Managers are assigned to guide you through the booking process from initial enquiry to event day.

Are there budget limitations or minimum spends the venue cannot accommodate?

The venue has stated they cannot meet certain budget requirements - for example, they declined a £1,000 budget for a two-day conference for 20 people, noting that suitable rooms start from £1,500 VAT exempt per day plus catering. They also declined a £2,000 budget for a 60-person gala dinner, indicating costs would be around £6,000 plus VAT for room hire, food and beverage.
