Frequently asked questions

On Fridays, £850/hour + VAT or £8500 + VAT for a day (up to 16 hours). On Saturdays, £750/hour + VAT or £7500 + VAT for a day.

Mandatory extra costs include post-event cleaning at £150 per event, staffing at £50/hour for 2 mandatory staff, and VAT at 20% on all charges. A refundable security surcharge (20% of the total booking value) is also required, with any additional time or costs deducted from this.

The Whole Venue accommodates up to 200 guests in theatre-style seating or 100 for dining events. The venue caps total attendance at 240 either standing in the Upper Room alone, or across multiple spaces in theatre layout; it cannot accommodate events exceeding this number.

Standard AV includes 2 65" TVs, a 150" projector screen, wireless handheld microphones, stage lighting, ProPresenter, HDMI connectivity, and more. Advanced AV options, such as live streaming, video recording, and support for live music, are available at additional unspecified costs. This is all in the Upper Room, with audio and visuals able to be extended into other spaces.

Whole venue hire is only available on Saturdays, and sometimes available on Fridays. All event times must include setup and pack-down within the booked hours.

A non-refundable deposit of 20% of the total cost is required to secure your booking. Additionally, a 20% refundable security surcharge is charged; this may be reduced if no overtime or damage occurs, but any extra time or costs will be deducted from it. Full payment schedule details are provided in the Hire Handbook after proceeding with a booking.

The venue operates on a dry hire basis, meaning you are welcome to use any external caterer, but all must provide Public Liability Insurance and arrange a site visit prior to the event. Only unlimited tea and coffee (£3.50 per person) can be provided directly by the venue; modest consumption of alcohol is permitted, with a Temporary Events Notice and security staff required from the hirer if they are selling alcohol on-site.

External caterers and suppliers are permitted, but caterers must supply valid Public Liability Insurance and complete a site visit with the venue manager. Recommended caterers have already satisfied these requirements; outside suppliers for AV or entertainment must be discussed with the venue in advance.

Whole Venue hire includes the Upper Room auditorium (up to 200 theatre/100 dining), access to 4 (5 if divider is used) breakout spaces, and kitchenette. The space is fully accessible and includes flexible furniture arrangements to suit different event types.

The venue does not accept private parties for external hirers unless with written consent from the Venue & Events Manager. Events must also comply with our Ethical Use Policy that can be found on our website.
