What is the maximum capacity for events in the Church?

The Events space at St Katharine Cree can accommodate up to 150 seated guests. The room measures 27 x 15.9 meters with a ceiling height of 11 meters, making it suitable for various event formats such as conferences, talks, and concerts.

What facilities and equipment are included with the hire of the Church?

The space includes access to a modern A/V system with wireless microphones, a large moveable screen, modular stage, moveable benches, and seating. There is also an organ, grand piano, access to three toilets, and entry from Leadenhall Street.

Are there any restrictions on the types of events that can be held in the Events space?

The venue is suitable for conferences, talks, ceremonies, receptions, exhibitions, fundraisers, meetings, festivals, fashion shows, and concerts. As an active church, St Katharine Cree cannot host events with spiritual content or which contradict its values of respect and inclusion.

Is St Katharine Cree a dry-hire venue?

Yes, St Katharine Cree operates on a dry-hire basis, offering flexibility to bring in external suppliers for catering and other event requirements.

What are the unique features of the Church?

The space features original stained glass windows, vaulted ceilings with armorial bosses, Corinthian columns, and a Jacobean interior that creates a historic atmosphere. It is a Grade I listed building.

Is the venue accessible to those with limited mobility?

There are 3 steps (with a handrail) into the Church through double doors and then a further step into northern third of the church. A moveable ramp is available. There are further steps into the Hall and garden (with a handrail) which are unfortunately too steep for the ramp. We’re afraid we do not currently have an accessible toilet.

Is there parking?

We don’t have parking but there are paid options within a 10 minute walk. Please note St Katharine Cree is within the congestion zone.

Can my event finish after 10?

We’re afraid not, as there must be sufficient time to pack down before 11pm so as to avoid disturbing our neighbours.
