The Streetside room has a day rate of £600 + VAT plus a £400 refundable damage deposit. All spaces require a technician at £125-£280 + VAT depending on the event requirements.

What are the capacity limits for each event space?

The Studio accommodates up to 100 guests in tiered seating with space for an additional 50 chairs in front. Screen 3 holds up to 59 guests and is wheelchair accessible with 2 designated spots. The Boardroom and The Lab have a maximum capacity of 20 people each. The Mix can accommodate 150 people seated or up to 300 standing.

What are the operating hours and timing restrictions?

Rich Mix operates from 9am-9pm for most spaces. Events typically cannot run past 11:30pm as the venue closes by then. All spaces have a minimum hire requirement of 4 hours, except Screen 3 which has a 2-hour minimum for cinema screenings.

What catering options are available and what are the costs?

Rich Mix works with external suppliers for catering as they do not have a usable kitchen. Refreshment stations cost £3.50 + VAT per person per service, and drinks tokens are £5 + VAT per person covering bottled/canned beers, medium glass of house wine, or soft drinks. External caterers are allowed but there is a 10% corkage fee applied.

What technical equipment is included and what are the additional costs?

Basic projection costs £75 + VAT, PA system with 4 microphones costs £155 + VAT, and lighting is complimentary. All spaces can accommodate laptop connections for presentations. A technician is mandatory for events requiring AV equipment, costing between £125-£280 + VAT depending on the complexity and duration.

Are there any restrictions on decorations, music, or external suppliers?

External decorations are allowed in most spaces. However, the Streetside room prohibits amplified music due to noise restrictions and is non-exclusive as it has stairs accessing escape rooms. External caterers are permitted but incur a 10% corkage fee, and clients can bring their own refreshments and snacks.

What is the booking process and payment timeline?

Rich Mix does not allow discounts to be made through Hire Space platform. Events typically require budgets in the £1,500-£2,000 range minimum. The venue offers site visits and phone consultations before finalizing quotes. Provisional bookings are held temporarily but will be released if no response is received within specified timeframes.

Are there any charity discounts or special rates available?

Rich Mix offers a 20% discount to registered charities, but only if you have a registered charity number. As Rich Mix is itself a charity, all profits from venue hire support arts and education in the local community. Standard commercial rates apply to non-registered organizations.

What staffing is included and what are additional staffing costs?

One event services staff member is included complimentary with most bookings. The Studio hire includes one bar staff member within the base price. Additional service staff cost £396 + VAT for two staff members. A technician is mandatory for AV requirements at £125-£280 + VAT depending on the event needs.

Can multiple spaces be hired together and what are the combined rates?

Yes, spaces can be combined for larger events. The Studio and The Mix can be hired together for £2,720 + VAT for a 7-hour hire (1pm-8pm) including setup and de-rig time. This combination works well for events needing both presentation space and networking/catering areas, with The Mix serving as an ideal space for exhibitor stands and refreshments.
