Who is the primary contact for booking Swan at The Globe's dining spaces?

What is the booking process and how do I secure a date?

The venue requires a phone call to discuss your event requirements before providing a detailed proposal. Once you receive and approve the proposal, you'll need to pay a 50% deposit along with signed Terms and Conditions to secure your booking. The sales team will follow up if they don't hear back from you after sending a proposal.

What dining spaces are available and what are their capacities?

The venue offers multiple private dining spaces including the Balcony Room (up to 70 seated, 120 standing), River Room, Bull Room, and Underglobe. The Balcony Room features floor-to-ceiling French windows opening onto a private balcony with views of St Paul's Cathedral, the Thames, and the Globe theatre, plus its own private bar and cloakroom with lift access.

What are the minimum spend requirements for private dining events?

Minimum spends vary significantly by space, date, and time. Examples include £3,000 plus 12.5% service charge for daytime Balcony Room events, £4,500 inc VAT plus 12.5% service charge for evening events, £5,500 for some evening bookings, and up to £13,000 plus a £2,000 room hire and planning fee for longer events. All minimums are subject to 12.5% service charge.

Who creates the menus and how often do they change?

Executive Chef Cedric Tourainne and his team create menus especially for the private dining spaces. The menus are inspired by seasonal British produce and change four times a year, with ingredients sourced from eclectic London suppliers including Borough Market, which is located nearby.

What types of events can be hosted in the dining spaces?

The dining spaces accommodate various events including seated dinners, day meetings, corporate events, weddings, networking events, and private celebrations. The venue can handle both seated and standing formats, with some spaces offering flexibility for different event styles and guest numbers.

Are there any timing restrictions or availability limitations?

Some spaces have timing restrictions based on other venue usage. For example, certain rooms may only be available until 4:30pm when the space is needed for evening events. The venue appears to operate with varying availability depending on Globe theatre schedules and other bookings.

What happens if the venue cannot accommodate my event requirements?

If Swan at The Globe cannot accommodate your event within your specified budget or requirements, they will actively help find you an alternative venue. The sales team has a process in place to assist clients in finding suitable alternatives when they cannot meet the event specifications.

What additional services and amenities are included with dining space bookings?

Depending on the space and package, bookings may include AV equipment, in-built staging, 270-degree projection, private bars, cloakrooms, and lift access. The Balcony Room specifically features its own private bar and cloakroom facilities, while some packages include comprehensive AV setups for presentations and events.

Can children attend events in the dining spaces?

Yes, children are allowed in the Balcony Room. The venue appears to be family-friendly for private dining events, though specific policies for other dining spaces should be confirmed when making your booking inquiry.
