The Common Room costs £3,600 + VAT for 9:00am-5:00pm with £3,000 minimum spend on food and drinks, £2,300 + VAT for 1:00pm-5:00pm with £1,500 minimum spend, or £2,750 + VAT for 6:00pm-11:00pm with £5,000 minimum spend. Evening events (18:30-23:00) are also quoted at £2,750 + VAT.

The Common Room accommodates up to 244 guests theatre style with stage, 180 guests theatre style including stage, 150 theatre style with catering in the room (244 with catering in adjacent space), 96 guests cabaret style with catering in room (144 with catering elsewhere), or 160 guests for dinner and dance events.

What AV equipment is included and what are the additional costs?

Standard AV package costs £400 + VAT and includes stage, screen/projector, two repeater screens, lectern with lectern mic, handheld mic, flipchart, and PA system. An AV technician is provided to assist with setup for conference packages.

What catering options and pricing are available through the in-house provider?

In-house catering is provided by Graysons with various options including two-course dinner at £57 + VAT per person, DDR packages from £60-£103.50 + VAT per person including meals and refreshments, and ceremony packages from £47.50-£52.50 + VAT per person with prosecco reception and bowl food or finger buffet.

What are the access times and setup arrangements for events?

Event organizers typically receive early access one hour before the event start time (e.g., 8:00am access for 9:00am events, 17:00 access for 18:00 events). The venue provides dedicated team support and allows setup time within the hired period.

Are there any restrictions on weekday versus weekend bookings?

Weekend bookings have higher minimum spends starting from £10,000 + VAT as the building is usually closed. Weekday bookings are more flexible with lower minimum requirements, and the building remains open to Law Society members and the public during daytime hours.

What additional services are included in event packages?

Standard inclusions vary by package but typically include complimentary Wi-Fi, dedicated team support, security, digital and directional signage, personalised welcome digital signs, registration table space, cloakroom facilities, filtered water throughout, and uplighters for ambience.

What are the booking and payment procedures?

The venue offers provisional holds for 7 days while clients consider options. Site visits can be arranged with the Sales and Marketing Manager, and detailed proposals with costings are provided based on specific requirements. All prices quoted are exclusive of VAT.

Are there any seasonal restrictions or special considerations?

The on-site restaurant does not serve food throughout August, which may affect catering options. Christmas packages are available from £147-£172 + VAT per person with themed decorations and entertainment, and the venue can accommodate various themed events including Great Gatsby and Starry Nights.
