Full Day Delegate Rate is £48-£58 per person including main meeting room from 8am-5:30pm, 3 refreshment breaks with snacks, networking buffet lunch, LCD projector and screen, jugs of water, stationery, and free WiFi. Half Day rate is £39-£52 per person with similar inclusions but only 1 tea/coffee service.

What are the capacity limits for the Alexandra Suite in different layouts?

The Alexandra Suite accommodates: Theatre 700, Cabaret 400 (tables of 10), 300 (tables of 8), 200 (tables of 6), Classroom 350 (3 per table) or 200 (2 per table), Banqueting 500 (rounds), 450 (with stage), 400 (with stage and dancefloor), Boardroom 120, U-shape 100, and Standing 700.

Are there mandatory minimum spends or guest requirements?

The Afternoon Tea Package requires a minimum of 20 people at £52 per person (total £1,040). The Midland Dinner Package has a minimum of 250 guests at £75 per person including VAT. Some events require commitment to food and beverage spend in addition to room hire fees.

What AV equipment is included and what costs extra?

Standard LCD projector and screen are included with Day Delegate Rates. Additional AV is provided by Sterling Event Group at extra cost - 7ft LCD screen with projector costs £150, and 6-speaker PA system with 2 microphones costs £375. All advanced AV requirements are sold separately through their suppliers.

What are the restrictions on external catering and vendors?

External catering is only permitted on Sundays. All other days require use of the hotel's catering services. Public areas cannot be booked or cordoned off for events as this affects other guests' experience, so only dedicated meeting spaces can be hired.

How long can bookings be held and what are the payment terms?

Events are typically held on 'first option' for 2 weeks while clients make decisions. For events approaching within 2 weeks, shorter hold periods apply (some as brief as same-day response required). All rates quoted are exclusive of VAT unless specifically stated as inclusive.

What events does The Midland Hotel not accommodate?

The venue does not host proms or certain types of events. They have specific policies around event types and will decline bookings that don't align with their venue standards or guest experience requirements.

What staging and technical facilities are available?

The Alexandra Suite includes 10 pieces of staging (each 8ft x 4ft) and has ceiling rigging points and three-phase power. Additional staging blocks cost £50 each (1m x 2m). The venue can accommodate stages for wheelchair accessibility and has pin spot table lighting available.

What are the accommodation rates for overnight delegates?

Double bedrooms (single occupancy) including breakfast cost £159 per person at The Midland or £105 per person at Manchester Central (sister property).
