What are the room hire costs for different spaces at Lowry?

The Compass Room costs £1,400 for evening hire (18:00-00:30) or day hire (12:00-18:00). The Pier Eight Room costs £995+VAT for full day hire (08:00-18:00). The Hexagon Room costs £850+VAT for full day hire. The North Room costs £195+VAT (reduced from £295+VAT) and the South Room costs £395+VAT.

The Compass Room has a minimum booking of 80 people and maximum capacity of 180 for dinner (160 if dancing space is required). The Pier Eight Room holds 120 in theatre style and 64 in cabaret (80 on full rounds). The North and South Rooms each hold up to 14 in boardroom layout. The venue's maximum overall capacity is 240 people.

What catering options and costs are available?

Hot fork buffet starts from £16.75+VAT per person (£12.00 for children). Three-course meals start from £30.00-£34.00 per person (£15.00 for children). Canapés cost £14.00 per person. What is the booking process and deposit requirements?

After agreeing to proceed, Lowry sends a booking contract that must be signed on pages 3 and 12. Once the signed contract is returned, they send a deposit invoice for room hire only. The booking is not confirmed until the signed contract is received.

Can I bring my own caterer or use external catering?

External catering is only allowed for religious purposes. If this applies, there's a separate dry hire package available for £4,500 for the Compass Room, which includes dry hire of the room and kitchen with furniture provided.

What AV equipment is included with room hire?

The Pier Eight Room includes one LCD projector that transmits onto a large wall, plus PA system and wifi. The North and South Rooms come equipped with built-in screen and projector and/or plasma. Basic AV is included in day delegate packages.

How does the booking hold system work?

Lowry operates on a 'joint first option' basis where multiple clients can hold the same date. When another client expresses interest, it becomes first-come-first-serve. Dates are put on hold but not confirmed until a signed contract is returned.

What are the day delegate package rates and what's included?

Day delegate rate is £45.50+VAT per person based on minimum 50 delegates. This includes hire of Pier Eight Room and foyer, basic AV, arrival tea/coffee/pastries, mid-afternoon tea/coffee/biscuits, buffet lunch, jugs of iced water, and discount parking coupons.

Are there any restrictions on room layouts or event types?

The venue cannot accommodate 250+ people in cabaret style. Christmas parties require catering packages and venue hire only is not offered. The North and South Rooms have no natural daylight. Some rooms are self-contained with private facilities while others share common areas.

What beverage options and costs are available?

Prosecco costs £36.00 per bottle, wine from £24.00 per bottle, bottled beer £6.00 per bottle, and elderflower presse/juices £4.50 per litre. The venue confirms their chicken is halal certified for dietary requirements.
